Types of Sentences - ENGLISH

There are three main types of sentences: simple, compound, and complex. A simple sentence contains one independent clause. A compound sentence connects two independent clauses with a coordinating conjunction like "and" or "but". A complex sentence contains an independent clause and at least one dependent/subordinate clause introduced by a subordinating conjunction like "when" or "because".
