Introduction
We will try in this discussion to simplify the tender
issue , and guide you to the right way to deal with any
project and introduce the best financial and
commercial offer so that you can be good competitor
for any project and persuade the owner and consultant
that your offer is the best so you can get the project
1- Tendering identifications
1.1- Tendering engineer : The Person who
receive tender document and he is responsible for
introducing the financial and commercial offer in
the detected time
2.1- Tender document : the documents the
tenderers receive that contains BOQ ,Drawings ,
Specifications and others
2- Type of Projects
• After receiving tender documents we should
recognize the type of the project if it is club,
hospital , mall, admiration building , factory or
any other type of building
• After that we should ask for its location and
if this project is new project or extension
• Then we should know project duration and
the time of project study (introducing tender
documents)
• Also we should note the time for clarification
3- Tender documents

In this session we will try to recognize the tender


documents and its contains
1- Tender drawings – design or tender drawing
for every section in the bill of quantities should
be identified with clarified section and complied
to the specification
2- BOQ (bill of quantities) - that have all items
need to be supplied or installed or both according
to what said
3- Specification (specs) – that was done by consultant
and describe every equipment or material in detail and
also explain the method of installation
4- Vendor List - the list of manufacturer
recommended by the consultant the we contact to get
offer for materials or equipment
5- Other documentation – the four previous items are
the main items should be with tender package but also
some other document may be attached like soil report ,
invitation letter list of drawings and others
4- How to start project
tendering
1- Recognize your project : you should know the type of project
, its place and the nature of works (invitation letter may content
all this data)
2- Knowing the project duration and time of introducing your
offer is very important so that you can know the time available
for you
3-Start reading the bill of quantities for every section and have
aback ground for all works and bulk items (main work)
4- Taking a look for all drawings and having some information
about building nature , table of equipment , and detailed section
5- Try to estimate your project budget (will be explained later )
6- Start by bulk items by rereading the bill
accurately and examine the drawing , see the
detailed section and schedule of equipment
7- Reading the specs of the item and the
consultant approval material and installation
method
8- Reading carefully consultant vendor list and
detecting the supplier which I will deal with
them
9- Sending requests for suppliers with drawing ,specs
and boq to send their offers for special items
complied with consultant specs
10- Repeat the previous point for all items in the Boq
11- Time taken by suppliers to read the specs and
prepare their offers I should study my project well ,
read specification , understand all systems , Put my
questions for clarification , follow with suppliers
offers updated and visit the project site if possible
12- BOQ should be on Excel sheet before starting our
pricing
13- After receiving suppliers offers we divide our
Excel sheet as per attached

Technical and financial offer

.Technical offer is very important as it has great value for


winning the project
. Its estimation by points according to consultant demands
and contractor complying
. All catalogues of materials and equipment should be
attached which the study is based on
. Contractor vendor list applicable with consultant one
. Company profile and its CV preferred to be there
. Qualified staff CVS who are able to execute the project
professionally
. The technical offer finish file should be arranged and
attractive
. Financial offer should be written with obvious hand
write
. Make sure of all numbers and revise more than one time
and with another one
. Finally make sure of number of copies needed to be
delivered
