Rain Rain falls from clouds.

When the drops of water in the clouds

become too heavy for the cloud to hold on
to, they fall out of the cloud onto
the ground. This is called rain.

Rain is wet! People might wear

You can’t see wind because

it is just moving air, but you
can see it blowing things like
leaves and trees.

A weather vane can tell you

which direction the wind is
blowing in.
Did you know…?
Very strong wind is
called a gale.
Thunder and
Lightning
Lightning is a large flash of
electricity that goes all the
way from the sky to the ground!

It happens when water droplets

in clouds freeze and then crash
into each other.

Because lightning bolts heat the

air up very quickly, they cause a
big bang - this is the sound of
thunder.

Did you know…?

Light travels faster than sound, so we see lightning before we
