Unit 1 - Changing Physical and Human Landscapes

Students will study physical processes such as rivers and coasts & their
management as well as rural-urban links & sustainable cities. We will study two
global cities & their connections within the world. Students will also have the
opportunity to study vulnerable coastlines, their sea defence management &
possible future threats, eg Global Warming and sea level rise and how cities and
countries are dealing with this.

Unit 2 - Environmental & Development Issues

Here students can gain an understanding of weather and climate and their links
with ecosystems. We will study hurricanes and droughts and what affects the
conditions in different locations. We will study Tropical rainforests and the
sustainable management of fragile ecosystems. Students can also look at the
global inequalities between countries and how international charities
and organisations can help improve quality of life. E.g. Fair Trade, water
management and poverty.
