Introduction
• Height is defined as the distance between
the lowest and highest points of a person
standing upright.
• According to J.L Hoecker, there’s no proven
way to predict a person’s height. However,
several formulas can provide reasonable
guess for the person’s height.
Statement of the Problem

What body measurements predict the height of


the person?
Assumptions
1. Participants are randomly chosen from ages 25-
30 years old of both sexes.
2. The body measurements to consider: head
circumference, waist line, arm length, leg
length, bust circumference, shoulder width,
palm length, foot length (cm), and weight (kgs).
3. Height of mother and father.

1. Gather the necessary data.
2. Encode the data in SPSS.
3. Run the analysis using Multiple
Regression.

Assign actual values in the independent variables to

Predicted height = 60.74+ 0.36*57 +0.045*75


+ 0.003*47 + 0.08*18 + 0.75*24
+ 0.57*86 = 152.74

Residual Error = Actual Height - Predicted Height


Residual Error = 153 - 152.74 = 0.26
