What is manipulation?
Definition
Manipulative Information and Media are
materials, programs, applications and the
like that teachers and students use to
formulate new information to aid learning
through the use, analysis , evaluation, and
production of interactive and hands-on
media
Manipulative Media
-items or tools used to aid in hands-on learning
-models in which learners can manipulate to
gain understanding and/or mastery of a
concept
-tools to assist students to advance from
concrete novice knowledge to a more expert
understanding of abstract ideas through visual
and kinesthetic senses

Activism
The practice or doctrine that has an
emphasis on direct vigorous action specially
supporting or opposing one side of
conversational matter.

This can be done through public rallies,


strikes, street marches, and even rants on
social media
Advertising
It is the action of attracting public’s
attention to something, especially through
paid announcements for products and
services.

Used by people who own big companies


and can afford to advertise through social
media and through the internet.
Hoaxing
A hoax is something intended to
deceive or defraud.

Misleading public stunts, scientific


fraud, false bomb treats and
business scams and hoaxes.

A form of communication that is aimed at
influencing the attitude of a community
towards some cause or position by
presenting only one side of an argument

Manipulation of Image
Image manipulation is the art of
transforming an image to convey what you
want, rather than what the original image
may have shown. This can be done for
artistic reasons, but because of the power
of the photograph to show the true
depictions of reality. This can also be done
for reasons of deceit.

order and compare characteristics,
determine line breaks, determine
text directionality, and keep track of
character properties, such as case.

materials that the students can
use to have a hands-on
experience regarding the
lesson.

assembled, disassembled, etc. to
show a concept.
VIRTUAL AND DIGITAL
MANIPULATIVE MEDIA
With the dawn of the digital age,
education should keep up with
the interests of the 21st century
learners. And in order to do so,
education have been merged with
technology in such a way that
students can learn more with the
aid of these devices.
Manipulative media can be both
traditional and digital. The use of
manipulative media in the classroom is
essential since it gives a concrete
experience for the learners because
students able to explore and investigate.
Thus, learning is effective, be it traditional
or digital.
