Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized computer originally designed for education that contains ports like USB, audio jack, and Ethernet. It was created in 2012 and launched as the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B, featuring 512MB of RAM, USB ports, Ethernet, and an HDMI port. Though slower than a laptop, it functions as a complete Linux computer. The Raspberry Pi has since been used to create many projects like smart mirrors, gaming devices, robots, and CCTV cameras. It is also useful for Internet of Things applications due to its communication and computing abilities while remaining low-cost.

RASPBERRY PI BY: Vok Jia Jun

WHAT IS RASPBERRY PI
A Raspberry Pi is credit card-sized computer originally designed for education.
It is a motherboard containing different slots like USB port, Audio jack, memory
slots, and Ethernet port etc.
It is slower than a modern laptop or desktop but is still a complete Linux computer
and can provide all the expected abilities that implies, at low-power consumption
level.
Price of Raspberry Pi is between 5$-35$(RM24-RM163)
HOW DID THE RASPBERRY PI
GET ITS NAME
A lot of computer companies were named after fruit. There's Tangerine Computer
Systems, Apricot Computers, and the old British company Acorn, which is a family
of fruit. Pi is because originally we were going to produce a computer that could
only really run Python. So the Pi in there is for Python.

HOW IT WORKS
How does a Raspberry Pi work? A Raspberry Pi has everything a computer needs to
function – just in a tiny package. The GPU and CPU are in a single, integrated circuit.
Other components, including a USB port, RAM, and an SD card slot are soldered on.

RASPBERRY PI IN IOT
The Raspberry Pi is a type of IoT device that offers an immense range of digital
media, communications, and computer applications. It was initially developed as a
low-cost alternative to mainstream consumer electronics like smartphones and
tablets but has since evolved into a powerful tool for robotics development too.
Advantage of Raspberry Pi
Raspberry Pi is a small, low-cost, and versatile computer that can run various operating systems,
including Linux. It has a range of input and output ports, such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, GPIO, and
camera, that allow you to connect various devices and peripherals to it.

Disadvantage of Raspberry Pi
One of the main drawbacks of using Raspberry Pi for ROS development is its limited performance.
Raspberry Pi has a relatively low processing power and memory, which means it can struggle to run
complex or computationally intensive tasks, such as image processing, navigation, or machine
learning.
