1. Definition Literature of Education

Literature and education are very closely related like books and pens, in the
sense that literary works may contain educational values or in education
require constructction of positive values that exist in literary works. As we
know that literature in which thereare work of literature there are at least two
aspect namely ‘dulce et utile’, means studentor readers feel entertained when
reading the beauty of literary work constructed from intelligence thinking.
While ‘et uile’ means student or speakers benefit from whaat they have read
for example in the form of moral values, character education, religious
values, good attitude and so on.
2. Language, Literature And Education

 There is no clear and obviouse literary/non literary divide to be defined on strictly linguistic
principles
 Literary language cuts across dichotomies like spoken/written (oral/literate) and
formal/informal
 Creativity may be larger category than the literary, anwith more explanatory power across
both literary and everyday discourses
 It is now recognized that discourse types such as methapor or narrative are central to all
language use.
 Literature, especially modern literature , is a kind of unusual writing perhaps distinctively,
tolerant of linguistic variety, including incorporation of many features of spoken language
3. Literary in curriculum

The literary curriculum links to th teaching and learning of


literature and how literature has contribution in arranging curriculum in
educational construction. While literature has not always been a school or
collage subject in the timetable, to be studied througt apporopriate
anthologiest and syllabuses of ‘classic’ authors and text and examined at
the end ot the course with grades assigned. Reading for pleasure or out of
curuousity and private studypre-dated and will no doubt go on long after
literature has been disestablished from the educational curriculum of
changed out of all recognition.
4. Literature in second language

 Literatureis typically used in more traditionsl ways in university


foreignlanguage education .
 In second language teaching situation, whrer language is required more
immediately for communication, and at lower schooling levels,
literature is more likely to be integrated into a communicative
curriculum, where language issues are focused on and difficult or
distracting literary features are played down
 It follows that better balanced and better integrated approaches may
have much to offer
5. Literature in cultural studies
This section explores current ideas of culture as discourse because they offer a
way into better understanding and investigation of these relations, both in and out
of classrooms, from students as well as their teachers. Culture is increasingly
understood in dynamic terms, constructed interactiveky betweeb people,
continuously, particulary through language use.

6. The origin and evolution of modern schooled literary study


Literature that defined as subject of study in the modern era was seen
by the governors and missionaries who instituted it as moral and
religious training for, and sometimes even as a last defense against
were becoming more powerful in advanced industrial and national world
orders with the coming of degrees of democracy and growing literacy
requirements, increasingly enshrined in obligatory state education
system.

CONCLUSION
Education have larger meaning than lerning, education is not just the
activity of transferring knowledge but also the activity of promoting value and
changing behaviors. Literatur is one of the important parts in education
because literature teach humanism. Some experts in education also link to
contribution linguistic and literate competence toparticipatory in agiven
society. Literature also was estimated as one of instrument of humanity, and
how we could live better as human beings.
