Basics of power point
A presentation collect ion of slides arranged in a sequentional manner to
entertain , motivate, convey, persuade or gie the information.
A slide is like a page in a presentation that displays a brief information.
Powerpoint is a powerful communication tool used to preset your views and
ideas effectively through visual aids . this help providing a better subjects .
it is used widely used in the business and education world.
A presentation can be projected on a big screen by the attaching the
computer to the multimedia projector.
You can generate handout material and speakers notes aftere creating a
presentation .
Starting the power point
To start the Microsoft powerpoint follow the given steps –
1. Click on start button then the dialog box will appears click on all program
Microsoft .
2. Open Microsoft office the dialog box will open then open the Microsoft
powerpoint . The window wil be open .
Selecting blank presentation .
click on office button and select new option from drag and down menu.
a new presentation dialog box will open.
Choose blank presentation and click on create . The slide displays the dotted
rectangular boxes called ‘placeholder’.
Click on the layout button in the slides group on the home tab ,and select the
dieserd layout from the display list
Adding text
To add the text in a slide follow the steps:
to enter the title in a slide click on a click to add title placeholder. A text box
appers with the the cursor in the centre.
Type “SUCCESS TRAITS “now, click on the click to add subtitle placeholder.
Type the text “HARD WORK “ inside the text box.
Saving a presentation
it is important to save your work at frequently interval to avoid the loss of
data . Follow the steps to save presentation:
click on the save button on the quick acess toolbqar or use office button and
select the save option from the drop down menu.
save as dialog box appers . Specifiy the name “ my presentation “ z in file
name text box. click on save button
Opening and exitig presentation
Click on the office button and select open option from the drop- down menu.
The open dialg box appear. Click on the desired file and click on the open
button.
Built in templates
ms powerpoint 2007 does not contain the auto content wizard for creating a
presentation . Powerpoint 2007 templates includes a sample slide show that
contain various themes and layout . Templates gives you an intial foundation to
bulid a presentation . You can modifiy a templates text and design , add picture ,
sound, company logo or can also delete existing content from the template .
Creating aq presentation using built up
templates
click on start > all programs > Microsoft office > Microsoft office powerpoint
2007
Select the office button > new option
the new presentation dialog box appears .
select the installed templates option under templates section.
Select ‘introducing powerpoint 2007’ sample from the installed templates
section .
click on create button .
a new presentation with 18 slides apers , illustraite different slides layouts ,
thems etc
now you can add text in a placeholder of each slide
Templates are a sets of pre designed format that includes text, design,
layouts, background, themes etc.
