Writing Progress and Work Completion Reports Lesson

Communication, accountability, and professionalism are important in the workplace. Progress reports and completion reports document work done on projects and provide essential information. Progress reports update on the status of a project throughout its life, while completion reports confirm that work was finished as outlined. These reports benefit both workers and clients by building trust, allowing for decision making and focus on tasks, and providing a record of work completed.

recommendations)
Progress Report

begin once additional parts are supplied in the next two weeks. Also, the millwright is waiting for
information from the client on some proposed changes. The millwright completes a PROGRESS
REPORT. It shows what work has been completed, what remains in phase 2, identifies the changes
that need to be approved and indicates when phase 2 will start. It can be used by the client to see
progress, or by a boss or another worker who takes on phase 2.
