INTRODUCTION

 Attitude: Early in the history of social psychology, the significance of attitude in

explaining psychological phenomena was formally acknowledged. Interest in attitude has
been robust and expanding ever since the term was first introduced into psychology
jargon. However, several approaches and focuses have been used over the years to study
attitude.
 Attitude concept: Given the wide range of published definitions and descriptions, it is
essential to be specific when defining attitudes. Similar to other concepts, attitude can
bedefined in two different ways: conceptually and practically. The conceptual meaning of
the word attitude varies significantly, and several points of view surrounding the concept
of attitude have emerged.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To know the employees’ attitude towards the organization

 To know the reasons for the employees’ positive attitude
 To know the reasons for the employees’ negative attitude
 To know the employees’ expectations from the organization
 To make suggestions to improve the attitude of the employees to the management
SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Attitudes have significant effects on the behaviour of a person at work. Some of the areas of
attitudes that a person in the world of work is concerned with are superior, subordinates,
peers, supervision, pay, benefits, promotions or anything that leads to trigger positive or
negative reactions. These attitudes reflect a particular persons likes and dislikes towards other
people, objects, events and activities in that persons surrounding environment. Some of the
strong attitudes are likely to affect persons behaviour and this makes the enthusiasm to study
and know about attitudes
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

 In order to find, interpret, and revise facts, events, behaviors, or theories—or to produce
practical applications using these facts, laws, or theories—research is an active, diligent,
and systematic process of inquiry.
 The term "term research" is often used to denote the gathering of data on a specific topic
To lesson complaints, the entire business should be aware of how employees feel about
the company.
 Finding out how many employees have positive or negative attitudes, as well as what
tends to be the same, is the major goal Here, the method of a broad employee opinion poll
has been used.
 The organization's employees received the questionnaires directly and were asked to
respond.
 Sampling technique
 100 people made up the sample size that was chosen via stratified
random sampling:
 When the highly heterogeneous group is first sorted into groups or "stratas" so that each
group's members are comparable in terms of the feature under consideration. Items are
chosen at random from each of these "strata." The sample is referred to as "stratified" if
the number of items picked from each group may be proportional to its relative strength.
TOOLS FOR DATA COLLECTION :
Questionnaire is the main tool for data collection. Questionnaire has been distributed to the
employees directly and a discussion also has been done.
STATISTICAL TOOLS USED:
The following are the statistical tools used in this project to arrive specific results.
Percentage Analysis:
Percentage analysis is a statistical tool, which is used to identify the percentage of responses
the respondent have given.
Percentage=(No of respondents/Total No. of Samples)X100
THE CHI-SQUAR TEST:
 The CHI-Square test is a valuable tool for comparing experimental results with those anticipated
conceptually and based on a hypothesis.
 It serves as a test static for a theory that offers a collection of hypothetical frequencies to which observed
frequencies are contrasted.
 The CHI Square test is typically used to determine whether the frequency with which a given event has
really occurred deviates from what would be expected theoretically.
 We can determine the degree of disparity between theoretical and observed frequencies using the CHI-
Square measure, and we may determine whether a theoretical frequency is the result of sampling error or
change.
 CHI-Square=(Oi-Σi2)/Ei
REVIEW OF LITERATURE

 According to a recent "Harris Interactive Poll," most Americans say they are happy with
their jobs, and over half feel proud of their careers.
 The survey reveals that many American workers still have negative attitudes toward their
employers and senior managers, are burnt out, and despise their employment.
 Employees at small businesses are more likely to see their employment, employers, and top
bosses favorably.54% of those surveyed who work for small businesses report being happy
with their jobs and employers.
 Only 25% of employees who work for large firms feel that their organization is the finest
place to work, compared to 38% of people who feel they are in dead-end positions.
 In a project on "Employee Attitude Toward the Organization in "Lakshmi Machine Works
Limited" she completed in 2006,
 Ms. B. Nagalakshmi made the suggestion that Management/HR department may be
changing the procedures or approaches to improve the employees' positive attitude toward
them by enlisting their help.
 The attitudes of different people vary. The management/HR department's roles and practices
should be acceptable in an organization, and any negative sentiments should be quickly
detected.
 Enhancing the relationship between employees and the HR department can help to lessen
the general negative attitude among staff members, which will benefit both the company's
financial success and the employees' improved quality of life at work.
 According to Ganguli (1964), the variables stated that there are three categories under which
the elements that affect how well workers perform in an industrial job can be grouped.
 1. Individual elements Working conditions
 2. variables of the environment (physical and social)The extent to which a worker will apply his skills to
the job is determined by his level of motivation and by his skill set, which are referred to as personal
factors.
 Work factor includes materials used, work methods, and tools and equipment. Environmental
considerations include things like
 (a) physical illumination, ventilation, etc.
 (b) The social and psychological aspects of leadership (supervisory and managerial), the atmosphere in
the workplace, the way in which groups form among the participants, etc.
 (c) The nature of organizational controls, communication patterns, etc. in 1999, Mr. Vijayanand
completed a project on "job satisfaction"
 In 1999, Mr. Vasudevan.C. conducted research on "job satisfaction" among employees of
"ELGI Electric and Industries Limited" and made recommendations about how the
company may improve working conditions, cut back on hours worked, and offer greater
prospects for career growth.
