Brain Tumour Detection Using Machine Learning
Brain Tumour Detection Using Machine Learning
• This project presents a model which is based on machine learning algorithms to detect
brain tumours from magnetic resonance images with high accuracy.
• A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has been used as the algorithm for feature
extraction, and segmentation and K means validation has been done for mean accuracy
for the brain tumour detection.
• The dataset used has been acquired from an internet website. The results show that this
technique is promising and the accuracy of 97.79% has been achieved.
INTRODUCTION
1) A Robust Approach for Brain Tumour Detection in Magnetic Resonance Images Using
Finetuned Efficient Net
Author: HASNAIN ALI SHAH 1 , FAISAL SAEED2
This section looks at a number of related studies that use deep learning and machine learning to
identify infectious brain tumors and standard images.Abd-Ellah and others carried out a
comprehensive investigation into a number of diagnostic approaches for brain MRI images.
EXISTING SYSTEM
• The Fuzzy segmentation method (FCM) was applied to separate tumour and non-tumour
regions of the brain.
• Wavelet features were also extracted using a multilevel discrete wavelet transform
(DWT)
DISADVANTAGES
• System requirements for the proper functioning of the model are high.
• Time taken to train the dataset is high.
• Highly accurate but not completely accurate.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• The technique used for making this model work is CNN (Convolutional Neural
Network).
• The different stages by which CNN is applied on the dataset are at first, the required
packages are imported. Then the folder where the dataset is stored is imported.
• Image reading is done after that it is labelled (such as 0 non-tumour and 1 for tumour
image) and then the images are stored in the data frame.
• The accuracy of the convolutional neural network model achieved and Kmeans validation
has been applied to find mean accuracy.
ADVANTAGES
1) IMAGE PREPROCESSING
• These MRI images are taken as input to the primary step.
• The pre-processing is an essential and initial step in improving the quality of the brain MRI Image.
The critical steps in pre-processing are the reduction of impulsive noises and image resizing.
MODULES EXPLANATION
• In image processing, image acquisition is done by retrieving an image from dataset for processing.
• It is the first step in the workflow sequence because, without an image no processing is possible.
• The image that is acquired is completely unprocessed. Here we process the image using the file
path from the local device.
MODULES EXPLANATION
3)FILTERS
• It is performed by sortingall the pixel values from the window into numerical order and then
replacing the pixel being considered with the median pixel value
MODULES EXPLANATION
4) IMAGE ENHANCEMENT
• Image enhancement is a technique used to improve the image quality and perceptibility by using
computer-aided software.
• This technique includes both objective and subjective enhancements. This technique includes points
and local operations.

CONCLUSION
• In feature based we have study about image processing techniques likes image pre-
processing, image segmentation, features extraction, classification.
• And also study about deep learning techniques CNN. In this system we have detect the
tumour is present or not and found accuracy and loss by plotting the graph.

remain a growing area of research in automated tumour segmentation.
FUTURE WORK
• It is observed on extermination that the proposed approach needs a vast training set for better
accurate results; in the field of medical image processing, the gathering of medical data is a tedious
job, and, in few cases, the datasets might not be available.
• In all such cases, the proposed algorithm must be robust enough for accurate recognition of tumor
regions from MR Images.
• The proposed approach can be further improvised through in cooperating weakly trained algorithms
that can identify the abnormalities with a minimum training data and also self-learning algorithms
would aid in enhancing the accuracy of the algorithm and reduce the computational time.
