Career Growth in the Sports Industry

Sports, just like any other career is a booming activity that offers a huge pay, in
terms of billions of dollars annually. Professional sporting activities offer a good
salary and guarantee job security. Sporting careers require a good character
from an ethical player, good knowledge and exposure, with networking being key
in career growth.

o Careers in sports are jobs involved with the athletic industry. They are both athletic
and non-athletic positions, held by people who work both directly and indirectly
with sports personalities.
o Also involves those who support the events at the background. Many careers exist
in the athletics industry, including the athletes themselves since they play athletics
sports for a living.

scout, a social media manager, an exercise physiologist and an event coordinator

the country’s GDP, as it grows more than the GDP itself.

 This sector’s rampant growth is caused by – Increasing


partnerships, media rights and sponsorships that partakers
and stakeholders enjoy. The Media advertises them
worldwide.
 Memorabilia stands at international stadia and the undying
support from followers and fans is also a source of growth.
They are branded with the sponsor’s details, like NIKE,
Yankees, Adidas, etc. who pay directly for brand awareness

 Athletic activities are held every two years, or at times several


times a year. Activities like ticketing, media and marketing raises
most of the revenues for sports. In 2009, between $45 billion to $64
billion was raised for sports in the USA.
 Athletics also raises global revenues. For this sport 20 billion ($28
billion) was generated in revenues for all U.S. sports.
Notable Trends In the Athletics Industry
 Enhanced Branding – This has opened a very big door for
marketing and awareness where branding happens from
shoes, clothes, water bottles, and many more, enhancing
a wider market reach.

 As we live through this digital age, the advancement of


technology has impacted the sporting sector, in such
mega way.

 Cloud computing and the upgrade into a 5G network has


opened seamless opportunities in Sports. It has created e-
sports, where sports keeps on evolving with technology.

 Trickling down of technology also ensures the upgrading


and betterment of junior sports centers and clubs, for
example, high schools, colleges and junior sports clubs.
LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE EXERCISE

 It teaches us to factor our priorities.

 There’s both a time for teamwork and a time for individual focus

 Becoming skillful in anything requires a sacrificial input

 We should relate well with others and always share credits.

 What you sow is what you reap, no success without work

 Times differ, we won't always win, which is okay.
