Bio Poem
Is used to reveal information to the reader about the poet.
Cinquaian
A five line poem inspired by Japanese Haiku
It can be composed through words, syllable counts or part
of speech.
Emotion Poem
Is used to describe various emotions using descriptive
language.
Diamante
Is a 7 line poem that looks like a diamond.
It does not have to rhyme.
It can be used to describe 1 topic or 2 opposite topics.
Limerick
a humorous poem with five lines
has distinctive rhythm
the rhyming scheme is AABBA
example:
Relentless, insatiable deadlines
This manuscript’s still full of red lines
First I’ll sweat through the edits
And check all the credits

Acrostic
Also known as name poems
Spell out names or words with the first letter in each line
The writer describes someone or something important
