During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Japanese government stated they had a data breach that exposed the ticket
holders PII, (Lambden, 2021). This data breach did not just hit the Olympics ticket holders, it was targeted at Fujitsu,
Japanese large tech company that provides services all over the country, (Lambden, 2021). “The Tokyo Olympics
organizing committee had its Fujitsu data sharing tool compromised late last month which resulted” PII from 90
Organizations to be exploited, (Morgan, 2021).

3 “On July 19, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued an alert saying that the Tokyo Olympics would likely be a target of any number of
possible attacks including "DDoS, ransomware, social engineering, phishing campaigns or insider threats..." and that such attacks could disrupt
virtually any aspect of operations. The FBI stated that it was not aware of any specific threat, but that partners of the Olympics should also be vigilant.
