within Pakistan.
Every person shall be liable to
punishment under this code.

It was originally prepared in 1860 on the
behalf of the government of India as a
Indian penal code. After the independence
in 1947, Pakistan inherited the same code
and subsequently after several
amendments by different governments in
it. Pakistan is now a mixture of Islamic
and English LAW.
CIVIL PROCEDURE CODE

The judicial system is essentially
divided into two types of cases, civil
and criminal. Thus, a study of civil
procedure is basically a study of
procedures that apply in cases that are
not criminal.

court as a civil law that describes the
formation of civil courts, its
procedure, classification, powers and
discretion of the judges.

CRIMINAL PROCEDURE CODE 1898

It is commonly known as Cr.P.C and
it is the most comprehensive statute
(a written law passed by a legislative
body) of proceedings of criminal
courts in Pakistan.

This law deals with the power of
police and procedure of the court in
criminal cases. In nutshell all criminal
courts work under this act and it has
central position in the Pakistan law
system.

MUSLIM FAMILY LAW ORDINANCE
1961
It was enforced w.e.f 15th july 1961.
Main features of the ordinance are as under:-
