Functions

The document contains information about functions and non-functions including definitions and examples. It defines a function as a relation where each input is mapped to exactly one output. Non-functions can map the same input to multiple outputs or not map all inputs. It provides examples of relations that are functions and non-functions based on this one-to-one mapping criterion.

Function

Defined as a relation between a set of inputs having

one output each. In simple words, a function is a
relationship between inputs where each input is
related to exactly one output. Every function has
a domain and range.
Function

A correspondence between to sets X and Y in

which each element of set X corresponds to exactly
one element of set Y. The domain is set X
(independent variable) and the range is set Y
(dependent variable).
Function

It may be defined by a set of ordered pairs, a table,

a graph, or an equation.
