 Manika Batra is the first Indian woman to win gold in table tennis at the Commonwealth
Games 2018.

Federation) ITTF World rankings in women’s doubles and top 15 in mixed doubles, and
the first Indian woman since 2019 to reach the top 50 of the ITTF women’s singles world
rankings.

 The government of India has appointed Vice Admiral (retd) G Ashok Kumar, the former Navy vice chief,as
India’s first National Maritime Security Coordinator (NMSC) in the National Security Council Secretariat. The
proposal for the creation of this post was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security in 2021.
 This is a part of India’s efforts to enhance maritime security following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack (2008).

 Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar, a Flag Officer in the Indian Navy, retired from the service in July 2021.

Wealth Creation’ Programme, designed for
the women in Sundarbans in South 24 Parganas district

i. Under the ‘Waste to Wealth Creation’ Programme, SIDBI
will offer benefits to 50 women indirectly generating
revenues from alternate livelihoods.
ii. The programme is a part of the SIDBI’s Mission

“Sant Ravidas Swarozgar Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana’ to eliminate hunger and
Yojana” malnourishment.
iii.The govt. is initiating CM’s Scheduled Caste Special Project,
under which a grant of up to Rs 2 crore will be given to SC
youths for self-employment, skill up-gradation and innovation.
iv.Another scheme ‘Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Economic Welfare’
will be launched under which loans up to Rs 1 lakh will be
provided for purchasing low-cost equipment or to cover
requirements for a small capital.

 Indian Railways along Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), has successfully commissioned
 India’s first Solar Photovoltaic Plant of 1.7-MegaWatt (MW) at Bina, Madhya Pradesh. The plant is
 under extensive testing and will be in operation for Indian Railways.
Aim:
 The installation of the solar plants is to achieve conversion of Indian
Railways to ‘Net Zero’ Carbon
 Emission and ‘Go Green’ by 2030.
 Aiming to reduce 2,160 tonnes of carbon dioxide emission every

Jammu and Kashmir (J & K).
 The under-construction Anji Khad bridge, situated over Anji river, part of the Udhampur-SrinagarBaramulla Rail
Link (USBRL) project, will connect Katra and Reasi areas through rail links.
 The bridge will stand at a height of 331 metres above the river bed.

 The Ministry of Railways has approved to set up India’s biggest world Class wrestling academy at Indian
Railways, Kishanganj, Delhi.
 The state of the art wrestling academy will be set up at an estimated cost of Rs 30.76 crores.
 The academy will be equipped with advanced training facilities Indian Railways promotes sports in India
through the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB).

February 2022 and Sea Phase from 1st to 4th March 2022.
