She’s married, and this is her family.
Their house is in London. She’s a teacher.
Her school is in the center of town.

Tom is Sally’s husband. He’s a bank manager


His bank is in the centre of town, too

Our children are Kirsty and Nick.


They’re students at Camden College.
We are happy in London

Possessive Nouns
Definition
•The possessive express ownership or show a relationship
•The possessive nouns are used to show possession (owning, or having).
They are words that would normally be nouns, but are used as adjectives
to modify a noun or pronoun
Rules
1. Add an ‘S to make a singular noun possessive
Examples: Peter’s house, The teacher’s Book, Luisa is Robert’s wife
2. Add only an ‘ to make a plural noun possessive
Examples Doctors’ offices, Students’ uniforms, Americans’ school,
3. Add an ‘S to a plural noun that does not end in s
Examples: mice’s hole, children’s toys, women’s dresses
4 Add an ‘s or only an ‘ to the end of a compound noun
Examples: Sales person’s smile, police officers’ guns

5. Add an ‘S to a singular noun that end in S when is short (1-2 syllables)


When the noun is large add only ‘
Examples: Charles’s car is new, Milagros’ family
