About Transworld
Introduction

Transworld Associates; a joint venture of Orascom Telecom, Saif Group and Omzest
Group, the first privately owned submarine fiber optic cable system between
Karachi – Pakistan, Muscat – Oman, And Fujirah – UAE. Transworld commenced
operations in 2006 and is the only operator in Pakistan which owns its 1,300 KM
submarine cable system. TW provides end-to-end direct broadband, high speed
connectivity to the growing number of telecom operators, ISP’s and corporate
customers in Pakistan.

All permanent employees of Transworld shall be covered with group life and
accidental death, non contributory 24 hours insurance coverage as per their
grade. For details refer to the HR manual.

Note:

Doctor’s prescription is mandatory in case of bill exceeding the amount of Rs. 1000/-

A prescription for self, spouse and children will remain valid for 3 months however
employee will submit a copy of prescription every time He/She forwards OPD Claims
prescription for parents will remain for a period of 1 Year however a copy will required
to be submitted with every OPD Claim

All medical test MUST be supported with valid doctor’s advice, without which the same
will not be proceed

Retirement Benefits

Provident Fund

Full time, regular and confirmed service of the employer shall be eligible for
membership of Provident Fund with the contribution of 6.667%

EOBI

When employee completes 60 years he/she will fill out the required forms and
forward these to the institution in order to retain the pension benefits

All fulltime employees get registered with EOBI by the employer and at the time of
resignation/termination, the registration shall be terminated
Probation
All new employees will serve a minimum three month’s probationary period

HR department issues an official letter of confirmation after successful completion of


this period

However, in certain cases, this period may be extended at the discretion of the
management in individual cases
Working Hours & Breaks
Transworld operates five days a week, from 9:00 to 18:00 hours

Shift employees work in accordance with the hours of work and number of days per
week

The usual lunch hours is 13:00 to 14:00 hours

Prayers and lunch break on Fridays is from 13:00 to 14:30 hours

During Ramadan, working week is without any breaks for meals and the timings are
from 09:00 hours to 15:00 hours and on Friday from 09:00 to 13:00 hours

Salary Logistics
Salary will not be disbursed if incomplete documentation is submitted with HR

Salary will only be paid through bank transfer (Company will not issue more than 3

Departure

In an event of termination of services, employee will get current month’s salary till the
LWD or severance as per agreement

Any other criminal activity punishable under Pakistan Penal Code 1860
Departure
• Final Clearance
Outgoing employee will visit each department to seek clearance on LWD
Provident Fund will be paid if employee will avails the option of PF membership
Settlement will be Delayed by another month if clearance formalities will not be
complete (60 to 90 days)

Specified work certificate as an acknowledgement of services rendered upon discretion
of HRD
