OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

• The understand the complete Recruitment & Selection process of


HCL/ICC
• To study practical knowledge with theoretical aspects of Recruitment and

selection process at HCL/ICC


• To identify the probable area of improvement to make recruitment
procedure more effective
• To know how the principal of roster works in respect of reserved posts in
various modes of recruitment process
• Provide opportunities to non executive to apply for vacant positions in the
company through internal job positing

• The sampling unit of research included Employees of HCL/ICC Company. Simple
Random Sampling

Primary Data:
• Primary data are collected afresh and for the first time. It is the data originated by
the researcher specifically to address the research problem
• In this study, primary data is collected to interview method with most suitable
with opened ended, closed end, rank questions, and multiple questions
Secondary Data:
• Secondary data is collected from internet, registers, records, magazines,
management and annual reports of the organization
Sample Size
• 50 employees were contacted but 25 employees responded
Findings
• Hindustan Copper Limited / Indian Copper Complex has a clearly stated

• Internal Promotion and Job Portals are mostly used in recruitment source.
• Written test is given a weightage during selection process
• Concerned departmental head is given special attention while selecting a
candidate of the department
• Employees are in the favor of physical examination and reference check
after selection of candidate
• Present selection process need improvement in terms of its procedure, tests
and interview type
• Provide travel entitlement for outstation candidates who are appearing for
interview
• Provide medical tests reimbursement to the employees
• To hire non executive, they prefer advertisement and recruitment
consultant
Recommendations
• After analyzing the collected data, the following recommendations were
made to improve the present recruitment and selection scenario in the
organization
• Recruitment management system should helps to incorporate and integrate
the various links like the application system on the official website of the
company, outsourcing recruitment
• New technology should be introduce to train the employees
• There should be control of the company on the Workers Union as to avoid
interference in the Company work and productivity
• Rewards should be more focused on performance based to motivate and
enhance the morale of the employee
Conclusion
• This study is an outcome of the topic called “Recruitment and Selection process at
HCL/ICC
• Recruitment and selection are getting very much importance these days in the
organization. It is very critical thing to evaluate the human resources
• It is systematic procedure that involves many activities. The process includes the step
like HR planning attracting applicant and screening them
• It is very important activity as it provides right people in right place at right time. If
suitable employees are selected which are beneficial to the organization it is at safe side
but if decision goes wrong it can be dangerous to the organization. So it is an activity for
which HR department gets very much importance
• The study has thrown an insight on the various factors responsible for recruitment and
selection process
• It has exhibited many positive factors such as effective personal interview, terms and
condition of appointment letter, recruiting qualitative employees in their groups and
describing the job profile to the candidates during the recruitment with this positive
factor, the researcher concludes that the recruitment and selection process at HCL/ICC
is very good
• The suggestion that extending the duration for accepting and rejecting offer letter, using
other sources of recruitment, regular reference check and common rounds for all the
employees can further make the process as excellent one
