Rule 1: Remember the Human
When communicating electronically, whether through email, instant
message, discussion post, text, or another method, practice the Golden
Rule: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
Rule 2: Adhere to the same
standards of behavior online that
you follow in real life

you are in the virtual world, the same written communication can
acceptable in
lives, just like you do, and don't have time to read or
virtual world
3. Blog, from the term "weblog", is a type of website usually updated by an individual
or a group of bloggers. Some blogs provide news or opinions on a specific subject,
while others are more like online journals. Most blogs allow readers to leave
comments on blog posts.
4. Flaming is the act of saying mean things online, usually in ALL CAPS,
and often in a public forum with the intention to humiliate. Flame wars can
occur easily online, as it can be difficult to figure out people's intentions or
emotions online.
8. Phishing is the illegal act of sending emails or messages that appear to come from authentic
sources, but really come from spammers. Phishers often try to get people to send them their
personal information, everything from account numbers to passwords.
9. Podcast is a downloadable video or audio file. Podcasts can be verbal, based on a certain
topic, or can include music, video, and commentary. Most podcasts are updated regularly
through the addition of new episodes.
10.Short Message Service (SMS), or text message, is a short message of fewer than 160
characters sent from a cell phone. A Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a text message
that contains an attached multimedia file, such as a picture or song

Search engines are software systems that are designed to search for
information on
the World Wide Web. The search results are generally presented in a line of
results
often referred to as search engine results pages.
Examples of Search Engines are
Google is the most known and most used search engine in the world.
According to Net Market Share, 74. 54 percent of the Search Engine
Market has been acquired by Google.

1. In your desktop, laptop or smartphones,
open the browser and search Google and
type the word, phrase or thought you want
to search.

the google search settings pop-up list will appear.

3. Type the keywords that you would like to search
and click the Advanced Search button. You can
search through all the words that you’ve typed,
or you can narrow it down to specific words.
Research Skills
Good research is a product of multiple and continuous
searches, here are some skills you can improve or adapt
to:
1. Critical Thinking – As you search
through the web, you must think
very carefully about the information
that you have gathered. Critical
thinking involves the ability to
reflect on the information presented
to you.

organize his/her collected data. As you
collect those data, be sure to track where
specific information is gathered.
