EduTech Business
24/7 Access to Learning: IoT devices are making it easier for students
to have full access to the classroom in a digital environment.
Whether they’re at school, on the bus or at home
“Flipping” the Classroom: Edutech tools are flipping the traditional notion of
classrooms and education. Traditionally, students have to listen to lectures or read
in class then work on projects and homework at home. With video lectures and
learning apps, students can now watch lessons at home.
Personalized Educational Experiences: Edutech opens up
opportunities for educators to craft personalized learning plans
for each of their students. This approach aims to customize
learning based on a student’s strengths, skills and interests.
2. Adaptive Learning:
A traditional learning model is designed around the idea that all students
learn at the same pace and should focus on the same kind of information.
Data science and artificial intelligence make adaptive learning possible by
adapting the materials as it is presented based on the student’s
performance.
3. Redesigned Learning Spaces
Transformation in the educational environment should center a
personalized experience that creates boundless opportunities for learning.
From putting smart devices like smart boards and smart desks into
classrooms to redesigning universities to informal learning campus
spaces, these changes facilitate collaboration and cooperation that will
mirror future workplaces.
4. Gamification
Games have a lot of potential in engaging students. They encourage
healthy competition and improve performance while providing anchoring
content that is relevant beyond the classroom.
Games offer instant feedback that makes students want to continue using
them and advancing their skills.
5. Learning From Anywhere
Access to learning opportunities is still a big social concern. With emerging
technology, it’s become significantly easier to study from anywhere.
Students are now able to connect with their teachers through virtual conferences
and adult learners can access a variety of courses online.

Before and After Covid 19
While the countrywide lockdown — due to the pandemic — wreaked
havoc across sectors and industries in the Indian market, the shutting
down of schools and colleges saw the emergence of many edtech
products and services and a rise in adoption.
Based on a study of 35 top online learning platforms, a SimilarWeb
survey revealed that between April 2019 to March 2020, edtech segment
saw an increase in user visits by 26% compared to the same period
between 2018-19.
The survey further went to state that while before the pandemic, school-
level online learning platforms such as Vedantu, LearnCBSE, BYJU’S,
Toppr, Tiwari Academy, Meritnation and Gradeup collectively captured
51.25% of the traffic share. This share shifted towards massive open
online courses (MOOC) — such as Udemy, Coursera and Toppr — in the
first 28 days post the lockdown.
The novel coronavirus has disrupted services and supply chains
across the globe, forcing most industries and businesses to rely on
technology.
This outbreak has also caused many educational institutions to
suspend attendance, delay examinations and hurriedly search for
ways to ensure seamless learning and academic study for their
students.
Educational technology (EduTech) companies and their services have
seen a major increase in their usage. Numerous platforms have been
launched, re-advertised, upgraded and made even more accessible to
the average consumer due to their growing demand in these
unprecedented times.
Conclusion
It’s hard to predict where EduTech is going from here. The
EduTech industry is one of the leaders in innovative
technology. There is already so much innovation that has
occurred. And there’s so much more potential.
Despite the fact that online education opens many
possibilities for both students and teachers, it can also
widen social inequalities in India. With regard to
online education, we must ensure that all our policies
and interventions are inclusive. India will lead the
way ahead with good vision and sincere efforts.
