• The notification should be clear, specific, and simple describing the problem occurring, its impact, and
the contractor's intention to file a claim.

• The notification must be submitted within the specified period according to the terms of the contract.

• The notification should not be in an offensive form.

• The notification must contain the Contractor's intention to submit a claim and specifying the type of
claim.

• Specify the contractual clause under which the notification was sent.

On 10th August 2019 our access to site was impeded because of ………….

The scheduled works cannot be performed falls along the critical path and our inability to perform
work as scheduled will necessarily affect completion of the project .
We write to give Notice of extension of time and extra cost arising from access delay pursuant to
Clause 2.1 of the Conditions.
When we have sufficient information and know the overall extend of the delay we will submit a Claim
of Extension Of Time and Cost pursuant to Clause 20.2 of the conditions .
We assure you that we will do everything we can to minimize cost and necessary contract time
extension.
If we can be of any help in expediting the resolution of the problem and getting us all back on track
please let us know.
