Mathematics Assignment

This document discusses the topic of symmetry in mathematics. It defines symmetry as an object being separated into two or more identical halves by a line or partition. A cube provides an example where a line drawn through the center divides it into two equal halves. The document discusses rotational symmetry, where an object looks the same after a partial turn, and how architecture demonstrates both line and rotational symmetry in daily life. It poses questions about rotational symmetry and asks which type of symmetry the Taj Mahal demonstrates.

ASSIGNMENT
TOPIC: SYMMETRY
what does SYMMETRY MEAN?
• After hearing the word symmetry, a question must have been
raised in your mind that what is symmetry. Symmetry is the line
or the partition which separates an object into two or more
identical half.
• For example :- If you take a cube and draw a line at the middle
of the cube which divides it into two equal halves, then that
lines acts like a symmetry here.

REGULAR POLYGONS
ROTATIONAL SYMMETRY

• Rotational symmetry is also known as radial

symmetry in geometry is the property a shape
after some rotation by a partial turn. An
objects degree of rotational symmetry is the
number of distinct orientations in which it
looks exactly the same for each rotation.
