Dev Ops

DevOps combines development and operations to shorten the systems development life cycle and provide continuous delivery with high software quality. It allows development and operations teams to collaborate better by automating infrastructure provisioning and application deployments, implementing continuous integration and delivery practices, and monitoring applications in production. Some key DevOps tools include Git for version control, Jenkins for continuous integration, Puppet for configuration management, and Selenium for testing. The DevOps lifecycle includes planning, coding, building, testing, deploying, operating, and monitoring phases. Benefits include faster delivery, issue resolution, scalability, stability, utilization, automation, visibility, and innovation. Real-life applications are in e-commerce, banking, trading, manufacturing, airlines

What is DevOps ?

DevOps allows a team to handle the

entire application lifecycle from
development to testing, deployment, and
operations.
What does DevOps engineer
do?
A DevOps engineer introduces
processes, tools and
methodologies to balance the
needs through out the
software lifecycle, from coding
and deployment ,to
maintainance and updates.
Some of the Automation Tools and
Technologies are:
1. Version Control Tool (Git): Git perhaps the best and most
widely used version control tool in a development era.
2. Build Tool (Maven): Maven is one of the important
DevOps tools for building projects .This can build and
manage projects written in JAVA,C++,RUBY,SCALA.
3. Continuous Integration Tool (Jenkins): Jenkins is an
Integrated DevOps tool mainly used for Continuous
Integration(CI).
4. Configuration Management Tool (Puppet): Puppet is also
open-source and uses Declarative programming for system
configuration , deployments, and Server Management.
5. Testing Tool (Selenium): Selenium is a top open-source
testing framework for Web Applications that supports all
major browsers and platforms such as LINUX, WINDOWS,
MacOS.
Lifecycle of DevOps
Lifecycle of DevOps
1. Plan:This phase define business value and requirements.

2. Code:This phase involves software design and the creation of software

code.

3. Build:In this phase,we can manage software versions and use automated
tools to help compile and package code for future release to production.

4. Test:This phase involves continuous testing to ensure optimal code

quality.

5. Deploy:This phase can include tools that help manage, coordinate,

schedule, and automate product releases into production.

6. Operate:This phase manages software during production.

7. Monitor:This phase involves identifying and collecting information about

issues from a specific software release in production.
Benefits of
DevOps
1. Faster and better product delivery.

2. Faster issue resolution and reduced

complexity.

3. Greater scalability and availability.

4. More stable operating environments.

5. Better resource utilisation.

6. Greater automation.

7. Greater visibility into system

outcomes.

8. Greater innovation.
Real-Life applications of DevOps
1. Online shopping applications.

2. Banking system.

3. Online financial trading company.

4. Car manufacturing industries.

5. Airline industries.

6. Web applications.
