COMMUNICATION
A Definition of Communnication
 Communication is the act of giving, receiving, and
sharing information in other words, talking or
writing, and listening or reading. Good
communicators listen carefully, speak or write
clearly, and respect different opinions.

Verbal Communication
 Verbal communication is about language, both written
and spoken. In general, verbal communication refers to
our use of words while nonverbal communication refers
to communication that occurs through means other than
words, such as body language, gestures, and silence.
  An example of verbal communication is saying “No”
when someone asks you to do something you don't want
to do.
Non-Verbal Communication
 Nonverbal communication is the transfer of
information through body language, facial
expressions, gestures, created space and more.
 For example, smiling when you meet someone
conveys friendliness, acceptance and openness.
Written communication

 Written communication is any written message that


two or more people exchange. Written
communication is typically more formal but less
efficient than oral communication.
 Examples of written communication include:
Emails. Text messages.
Listening
 Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret
messages in the communication process. Listening is key
to all effective communication, without. the ability to
listen effectively messages are easily misunderstood.
Listening is one of the most important skills you can
have.
 Examples of listening: Paraphrasing to show
understanding.
Visual communication
 Visual communication is the practice of using visual
elements to communicate information or ideas, concise
way can be difficult with words alone.
 examples of visual communication
