Assignment 3 unit 11

Introduction
In this document we will be talking about how we setup the computers for the
music company and i will also be talking about the user requirements in this we
had to make sure the staff could download.I will also need to do classes on how to
work and download on a mp3.In the computer setup they will need to be 3 high
spec computers a switch
Ipconfig and ip ping
We went to command prompt and then we use
the command ipconfig which we had to check
for ipv4 address which was 192.168.56.1and
the subnet mask was 255.255.0.0 we also had
to ping the printer through command prompt
which was 101.201.114.202 and we also
needed to ping each device which had a ip of
10.10.10.22 or 10.10.10.11 .we did this so we
can connect the printer to the network and we
pinged it so we can make sure it's connected to
are network.
Connecting printer
We went to settings add a printer and the
device type was autocorrect hostname of ip
255.255.255.0
Port name 255.255.255.0
Tick query the printer and automatically select
the driver to use additional port information
required next. We did this so the computer
can actual find the computer and we added it
to the list since it wasn't there
Firewall
We had to make sure the wall was up and running so they can't be
attacked by any malicious malware . a firewall is a security device that
will protect the network from unauthorized access to personal data
they do this by creating a barrier between secured internal networks
and it will also flag untrusted networks.we had turn this off and on
again due to it messing up are ips whilst we was trying to ping each
other.
Shared the files
We had to right click the folder or drive you
want to share we then clicked properties from
the sharing tab click then we advanced
sharing.Then we shared the folder then we
checked permissions in security and set
access permissions.We made user and admin
accounts so we can give permissions to certain
folders via the users. We made the main
account as admin with different level of access.
Network test
We searched for a network and click open it
then we select active directory at the top of
window you may need to first select the
network tab on the upper left first. This is to
make sure the network is working correctly and
smoothly so we will have a good connection to
the printer
Test
We had to tested the computers network by seeing if we could share files with
each other which it did allow us to share files with other computers and it was a
very functional we did not need to repair any faults as necessary.We could also
connect to the printer fine so the hardware connection was working fine
User requirements
These are the pictures i took whilst setting up the user requirements which are
●Allow customers to download music within the store.

●Give class on how to download music and design mp3 gadgets.

●Customers must be able to download music.

●Staff must able to search for music

●Centralized printing.

●Must be able to organise and keep

●The needs to have suite of applications software tools to quickly download music and manage the music and the shop.
●The network must be secure.

It has been decided that the following required for the computer network
●3 high spec computers- one computer for sales and stock control one computer for downloading music and for use within the
classes so people can learn how to use mp3 players and one for the manager's office.
●Operating system which will need five shared folders and seven shared files they will need different access permission.
●The store will have at least three network users.
Feedback
Here is some feedback for improvements on your network for assignment 3 please add more information for example how much does a 1GB switch
cost and include a picture.

● Your network was set up correctly but I noticed you had used older hardware and software. To speed up the user experience I would suggest
the following:
● 1GB Switch rather than a 100mb one.
● Larger screen.
● A faster broadband connection such as Virgins fibre broadband running 200mb or above and better upload speeds.
● A multifunctional printer including a scanner\copier\printer functions.
● Windows 11 with more security features and it will be supported longer than Windows 10 - please review features and discuss some of them.
You might need a higher spec PC.

Feedback review
I have concluded the feedback I have received and I will change these to what has
been suggested so I will change the switch to a 1gb one instead of a 100mb one
which is not good because it is slower than what has been suggested. I will also
input larger screens and will allow people to have faster broadband on the
computers such as a virgin fiber which runs at 200 MB or above and has better
upload speeds. I will also need a multifunctional printer which will include a
scanner and a copier and all the functions a normal printer has.
Conclusion
In this conclusion, I will be talking about how I made improvements to my work
with the feedback I received and how I went about this with the user requirements
in my mind. The user requirements required me to have 3 high-spec computers
and I include this in my diagram. I also need to have the staff to access the music
and they must be able to also search for the music. The manager must have
access to a centralised printer within his office. I went by this by including a printer
and a computer further away as shown in the alternative designs I must also be
able to keep it organised. The network must have a suite of applications installed
already are installed quickly from this I learnt how to ping and re config a ip
