STUDIO”
ABOY, ALEXANDRA JEAN DORDE, JUN JOSEPH
DEL MUNDO, CARL MARTIN FABULA, KHIARA MAY
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The studio was once an apartment building and later turned into a Music
Studio by a music enthusiast, an architecture student, and a businessman.
It is a 2-storey commercial building located along the National Road,
Putatan, Muntinlupa City. They offer band rehearsals, recording, musical
instruments, and buy-and-sell products. And since the owner and one of his
staffs both took architecture, the studio also offers art lessons.
The studio operates from 9am-11pm where lessons usually occur from 9am-
5pm, and band rehearsals from 5pm onwards.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
To maximize sound performance and desired sound should be enhanced.
Consider the security of the structure and also the auditory sensation of the
people who will use for a couple of hours.

ANALYSIS OF THE
ACOUSTICAL DESIGN
Materials Description
Walls Palochina Used to redirect the sound waves.
Acoustic Foam Used to trap/diffuse the sound (placed on the drummer’s area near the
wall) so that the sound wave will not reflect to the drummer which
may cause hearing problems.
Ceiling Egg Tray The soft part of the tray was used to trap the sound and the rough part
acts as a diffuser from the noise coming from the G.I. roof during
rainy days.
Plywood Used for direct transmission for the security purposes of the users.
Door Wooden Door filled To penetrate the sound waves from transmitting through the surface.

CONCLUSION/
RECOMMENDATION
We conclude that in acoustical design
of music studios, we should consider the
factors and materials to be used as to
enhance the sound of the room, auditory
sensation of the users, and ambiance of
the structure. We should design based on
how frequent the structure shall be of use
and what acoustical materials and
treatment should be applied in order to
maximize the architectural acoustics
inside.
