Dancing Excercise Swimming ASSESSMENT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND PHYSICAL FITNESS Physical Activity– it is a process of moving, and it can be exercise, sports or leisure activity. It works toward health-related outcomes. Fitness- is a condition in which an individual has sufficient energy to avoid fatigue and enjoy life. Physical fitness- is defined as the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure- time pursuits and respond to emergencies. Physical Activity Pyramid ⮚A visual representation demonstrating how to increase physical activity until it becomes a part of daily routine. ⮚Visual representation with daily recommended activity at the base and proceeding to less beneficial activity at the peak. GROUPINGS DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES (HABITUALLY) ⮚ Taking the stairs instead of elevator, ⮚ taking longer routes, ⮚ walking to the store, church, banks or mailbox, ⮚ parking your car farther away. DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES (HABITUALLY) ⮚ adding extra steps to your daily routes, ⮚ taking stretch breaks at home or work, ⮚ doing household chores, running errands; and, ⮚ grocery shopping. Regularly or 3-5 times a week AEROBIC EXERCISE -Brisk walking, running / jogging, bicycling, aerobics, dancing, swimming and aero - kick boxing. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES -Ballroom dancing, badminton, basketball , softball, skating, tennis, piko , sipa and patintero. Often or 2-3 times a week: LEISURE ACTIVITIES -Go mall-strolling, playing golf and bowling. EXERCISE FOR STRENGTH and FLEXIBILITY -stretching, yoga, taekwondo and resistance training. Minimally or a few times a month: -Sitting , lie around, be a couch potato, watching TV, playing cards, sit and do needle work, indulge in computer games and surfing. REMEMBER: To maintain the soundness and goodness of our body and to keep physically fit, we should always follow correctly the importance of the Filipino Pyramid Activity Guide as well as the Health and Skill Related Fitness.
