Hotel and resorts caters to the growing number of international travelers
and tourist, while providing employment to local and foreign nationals.
The Industry continues to enjoy profit because of the Increasing number
of hotels, restaurants, and similar establishments (santos 2014).
HOTEL – Derived from a French word
which means “host”.
 Hotel shall refer to full service accommodation with reception and guest
rooms generally offering private facilities with an onsite restaurant, room and
bar services available. Additional facilities such as business centers and
conference rooms are expected (DOT, 2012)

environment, with reception and guest rooms generally offering private
facilities with an onsite restaurants, room and bar service available.

The term “accommodation” has many definitions, both simple and complex.
 Prior to us understanding accommodation, let’s break the two service
involved in hospitality industry. First one is the FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE
which involves restaurants and all food outlets that caters to the needs of the
visitors. The other one is the ACCOMMODATION SERVICE which covers the
services of hotels, resorts, and other types. Accommodation service is where
guest stays for them to take a momentary rest from all the movements
encompassing tourism.

Hotel Rating System

In the international rating system , we apply the 1-5 star hotel rating
system

Star Rating Description


One-Star - A one star rating often means a property has no
frills and only offers basic accommodation.

Two-Star - like one-star hotels, tow-star properties are


typically more affordable than hotels that have a
higher rating they are also usually quite
comfortable.

Three-Star - Three-star hotels ordinarily have some unique


amenities and provide quality service.

Four-Star - Four-star hotels are often noted for their upscale


quality and extraordinary comfort.

Five-Star - A five-star property provides flawless guest services


in a state-of-the art facility.
