The HUMSS strand curriculum is comprehensively equipped to provide
students with the essential skills like communication, writing, and critical
thinking crucial for further studies in higher educational institutions, as
well as their day-to-day operations in careers that rely on rapport and
immersion with fellowmen. Our senior high school students can expect to

List of Specialized Subjects in Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand
Subject Description
Creative Writing/ Malikhaing Pagsulat The course aims to develop practical and creative
skills in reading and writing; introduce students to
the fundamental techniques of writing fiction,
poetry, and drama; and discuss the use of such
techniques by well-known authors in a variety of
genres. Each class will be devoted to the
examination of techniques and to the workshop
of students’ drafts toward the enrichment of
their manuscripts. Students learn how to combine
inspiration and revision, and to develop a sense
of form.
HUMSS Culminating Activity/Work The course aims to develop practical and

Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism,

nine religions, appreciate their

mutual understanding among believers
of different faiths. Learners are expected
