(OHS)
It control and prevent the hazards and risks from
work that may result in injury, illness, or affect the
well being of workers. This also includes wearing
of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
to protect them from harm.

It is the equipment or material
worn by people to minimize
exposure to hazards that can
cause serious workplace injuries
and illnesses.

- Is a term used to
describe something that
has the potential to
cause harm.
RISK
- A measure of
possibility of a specific
harmful effect in given
circumstances.
Hazards and risks include exposure to
accidents , injuries, and losses caused
by ignorance, carelessness, poor
maintenance, or inadequate facilities.

1. No fire extinguisher- Be sure to have a fire
extinguisher at home.

2. Poor refrigerator storage- Always put raw meat in a


sealed containers or plastic bags to avoid contamination.

3. Dirty Oven – clean your oven regularly and always


attend food being cooked in the oven.

4. Household Chemicals- store these chemicals out of
reach of a children.

5. Unattended Appliance- turn the appliance off if you


have to leave the area.

6. Loose clothing or hair- you need to roll-up sleeves, tie


the apron tight, and tie up long hair before cooking.
