This research will analyze the data with using qualitative method. Firstly, read
the novel ‘The Fault in Our Stars” in English and Indonesian version, secondly
bold the words to identify and selecting the Idioms, after that categorize the data
semantic and syntactic strategies based on Chesterman’s theory, then categorize
the idiom strategies based on Baker’s theory and also categorize Speech Acts by
Searle, for the next step the researcher will describe the translation strategies that
used in the novel The Fault In Our Stars to translate idioms from English to
Indonesian.
