What is socialisation?
 Socialisation is the process of learning the correct behaviour, norms
and values in a society. There are 2 types of socialisation that we
experience as we grow up. They are;
1. Primary socialisation
2. Secondary socialisation

Using page 18 of the text book I would like you to explain


these 2 types of socialisation in your own words and give an
example.

There are 5 case studies in total. Each group will see all 5 and

following questions in your books and give a summary of your case to the rest of
the class at the end.
 To be successful in this task you must answer questions 1-3 and use them along
with the information to create a short summary.
1. What examples of non-human behaviour can you find? DISCUSS!
2. Why did this child not act like a ‘normal’ child? DISCUSS!
3. Do you think the child will be able to learn how to be human? DISCUSS!
4. Produce a summary about your case study to feedback to the class. WRITE
INTO YOUR BOOKS!

The family and socialisation….
 They are the key agent of primary socialisation and
teach young children the basic skills to live in society.
