CHAPTERS IN KATIPUNAN

Aside from Manila, the Katipunan also


had sizeable chapters in Batangas,
Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan,
Pampanga, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.
MAGDIWANG AND MAGDALO
There are two factions in Katipunan, the Magdiwang ang Magdalo.

The Katipunan had members in Manila and other provinces in the


Philippines. Due to political and other differences between the members
from Manila and other provinces, divisions arose in the organization,
prompting its leaders to call for a convention to try and reunify the society.
MAGDIWANG:
The Magdiwang is a faction of the
Katipunan, started by Mariano
Alvarez is a Philippine
revolutionary organization
founded by Filipino rebels in
1892, with the aim to gain
independence from Spain.

 It was the first group/faction in


KATIPUNAN
 Magdiwang ia credited to have the
most military victories.
MAGDALO:
The Magdalo is a faction of the
Katipunan led by baldomero
Aguinaldo(a Philippine
revolutionary organization with
the aim to gain independence
from Spain during the Philippine
Revolution) chapter in Cavite.

 Magdalo has fewer members that


magdiwang, but has complete
weapons..
Andres Bonifacio was invited by Ricarte
and Alvarez to discuss the rivalry between
the magdalo and magdiwang

They held a convention on December 31,


1896 in Imus

It was called the "Imus Convention".


The Tejeros Convention

The Tejeros Convention, also known


as the Tejeros Assembly and the
Tejeros Congress, was a meeting held
on March 22, 1897, between
Katipunan factions of Magdiwang and
Magdalo in San Francisco de
Malabon, Cavite.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss
about the defense in Cavite. But instead
they discuss what the revolutionary
government would be and to determine
the leaders of the said government.
The meeting resulted the creation of a
new revolutionary government that took
charge of the Philippine Revolution,
replacing the Katipunan.

After the election, Daniel Tirona objected.
He said that Andres Bonifacio is not
suitable for the position and
recommended Jose Del Rosario a lawyer.
ACTA DE TEJEROS

is a document signed by Andres


Bonifacio on March 23, 1897 to annul
the election of the officers of the new
revolutionary government on 22
March 1897 at the Tejeros Convention
in San Francisco de Malabon, Cavite.
NAIC MILITATY
AGREEMENT

was a document prepared on April 19,


1897 in which a number of
participants in the Tejeros Convention
repudiated the convention results. This
repudiation, which followed the Acta
de Tejeros issued on March 23, would
later cost Andres Bonifacio his life.
