Chinese word (Chan) which traces its roots to the Indian practice of
Dhyana (“meditation”).
• Zen emphasizes rigorous self-control, meditation-practice, insight into
Buddha nature, and the personal expression of this insight in daily life ,
especially for the benefit of others.
