India gives states the power to regulate gambling within their jurisdiction. As a result,
different states have different laws and regulations regarding gambling. Some states
have completely banned gambling, while others have legalized it to some extent.

● For instance, the state of Goa has legalized casinos, and Sikkim has legalised online
gambling. However, in most other states, gambling is prohibited. So, the legality of
online betting in India depends on the state you are in. The Supreme Court of India, in a
recent judgement, stated that online betting on horse racing is legal. The court upheld
the legality of online betting on horse racing, as it is considered a game of skill rather
than chance. The court also clarified that it is up to individual states to decide whether to
allow online betting on horse racing or not.
Government Strategies 
● The future of online sports betting will depend on the policies of the
Indian. In the current situation, there is an intent shown by the government
to legalize online sports betting sites in India, and with that regard, there
have been several bills introduced in parliament.

It seems that the government also wants to legalize and regulate this
industry. If sports betting is legalized, then a massive market for operators
