Cone, Cylinder and Sphere

Problem 1: Angeline wants to cover her


cylindrical can with plastic to make a flower
vase. If the can is 15 cm high and its diameter
is 10 cm, how much materials are needed to
cover her can?
Understand:

Answer: The amount of materials
needed to cover the can b. What are the given
facts? Answer: Height of 15 cm and a
diameter of 10 cm Since the given is
diameter, we need to divide it by 2 to find the
radius.
Plan: a. Which formula shall we use to solve the

Answer: The can is in the shape of a cylinder.
Let us use the formula below to find its Surface
Area.

Answer: The amount of materials needed to
cover the can is 628 cm².
