is a proactive process of developing a
business venture to make a profit.
It involves seeking opportunities for a
market, establishing and operating a
business out of the opportunity, and
assessing its risks and rewards through
the close monitoring of the operations.
Societal and Economic Benefits of Entrepreneurship
1. Development of Managerial capabilities
2. Creation of Organizations
3. Improving standard of living
4. Means of economic development
5. Produces more jobs that equate to an increase in national
income
6. Introduces new and innovative products and services
7. Disperses the economic power and creates equality – It
balances the economy by distributing national income to more
businesses rather than to only few monopolies.
Concept of Entrepreneurship

“entrepreneur” was derived from the French verb


enterprendre, which means “to undertake”
 The enterprise is created by an entrepreneur and
the process is called “Entrepreneurship”.
Who is an Entrepreneur ?
• is a unique individual who has the innate ability and
extraordinary dedication to establish and manage a
business, acknowledging all the risks and reaping
its rewards.
