West Bengal Student Credit Card

What is a West Bengal Student Credit Card?

The West Bengal government's Higher Education Department launched the West
Bengal student credit card programme in June 2021 to assist students in pursuing
higher education without being constrained by financial constraints. Similar to the
state government's previous education initiatives, this programme strives to assist
deserving impoverished students by giving them the opportunity to enrol in high-
quality educational opportunities.
Students in the state of West Bengal may obtain collateral-free loans for up to ten lakh
rupees using the student credit card offered by the state government. The interest rate
is one of the additional benefits that students can take advantage of by using this
programme. Students can borrow money at low yearly simple interest rates of no
more than 4% per year.
