Development of Cucumber
( Cucumis sativus L. ) in
Performing Different Bio
Fertilizer
INTRODUCTION:
• In the Philippines, cucumber cultivation is a highly profitable
agricultural endeavor that can generate steady revenue. This post
is appropriate for you, so keep reading if you have any plans to
grow cucumbers commercially or in your backyard. The plant
Cucumis sativus, often referred to as "Pepino" locally, is well-liked
due to the fruit's light flavor, which is frequently used in salads
and dishes following the Mediterranean diet. It is an annual plant
that was first domesticated and consumed in India more than
3,000 years ago. In the Philippines, three common cultivars are
grown. White, spiny, and ordinary green cucumbers are all
examples of cucumbers. These kinds are grown in the same way.
OBJECTIVES:
-To determine which fertilizer works best for Cucumber
growth and yield performance.

-To identify the most effective organic and synthetic

fertilizers.

-To ascertain which fertilizer will allow Cucumber to grow

the fastest.

-To develop high yielding production of cucumber.

METHODOLOGY

Land preparation is important to ensure that

the field is ready for planting. A well-prepared field
controls weeds, recycles plant nutrients, and
provides a soft soil mass for transplanting and a
suitable soil surface for direct seeding. The
purpose is to provide the best soil conditions which
will enhance the successful establishment of the
tissue culture plants. It is one of the measures
used to control crop diseases & pest invasion .
-Preparation of Plots measurement
• Plot measurement for planning and
development purposes is an important piece
of guidance to engaged in preparing land for
development, and is intended to bring
consistency in the use of the terminology
applied to different areas of land for this
purpose. the measurement of our area is
1x10 meters and 12 cm distance per plants.
-Preparation of Seeds Germination
• Seed germination may be defined as the
fundamental process by which different
plant species grow from a single seed into
a plant. This process influences both crop
yield and quality. germination can be
defined as the growth of a seed into a
young plant or a seedling.we prepare our
seeds in seedbox to germinate.
-Application of different Bio fertilizer
• “Biofertilizers
are substances that contain
microorganisms, which when added to the soil
increase its fertility and promotes plant
growth.” Biofertilizers are substance that
contains microbes,  which helps in promoting
the growth of plants and crop by increasing the
supply of essential nutrients to the plants. And
we start applying fertilizer after we transplant
in plots area.
THE BENEFITS AND
BADGES OF
DIFFERENT BIO FERTILIZER
CHEMICAL FERTILIZER:
A complete fertilizer is a type of
plant nutrient that contains all three
of the primary macronutrients:
nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and
potassium (K). These nutrients are
essential for plant growth and
development, and they are usually
applied in the form of fertilizers to
provide plants with the nutrients
they need to thrive.
Vermicast (also called worm castings, worm
VERMICAST: humus, worm manure, or worm faeces) is
the end-product of the breakdown of
organic matter by earthworms also called
vermi casting. These castings have been
shown to contain reduced levels of
contaminants and a higher saturation of
nutrients than the organic materials before
vermicomposting.
It is an organic fertilizer and manure rich in
all essential plant nutrients. It is completely
non-toxic & free from pathogens. It
improves soil structure, texture, aeration,
and water holding capacity. It is an organic
fertilizer and manure rich in all essential
+plant nutrients.
SWINE MANURE: Swine manure can be an excellent source
of nutrients for crop production. The key
to proper management is determining
the nutrient content of the manure, the
percentages of those nutrients that are
available to the plant, and the nutrient
requirements of the plant. nutrients and
micronutrients present in swine manures.
Zinc and copper levels can increase in
soils to which swine manure has been
applied. Give special attention to the
concentration of these elements in both
soil that is receiving manure and manure
to be applied to fields.

 RESEARCH DESIGN
The study will be laid out following the randomized complete block design (RCBD). The
study has three treatments with replications having a different bio fertilizer the different
treatments will be as follow:
Treatment 1- Synthetic /complete fertilizer - 5 grams per plant
Treatment 2- Vermicast - 100 grams per plant
Treatment 3- Swine manure - 100 grams per plant
The following data will be for this study.
1.Number of leaves present every plant treatment
2. Plant height present in every plant treatments
3.Disease and Insect infected in every treatment
4.Number of flowering when the time of plant start flowering
5.Number of fruits harvested in every treatment
6. Fruit length (in cm) harvested in every treatment
7.Fruit weight, the average and total weight of every
treatment
8.Fertilizer Application Measurement in every treatment
