Goat manure
• It is known for increasing the water holding capacity of the
soil, among other uses. creates good soil conditions in the
new garden and existing gardens. It improves soil texture and
therefore uses water efficiently and allows more oxygen to
reach the roots.
Objectives:
1. To evaluate the growth and yield of string bean
under different animal manure.
2. To compare the growth and yield performance of
string beans under various animal manure.
3. To determine which treatment has the higher
number of pods.
Methodology:
LOCATION AND DURATION OF THE STUDY
The research was conducted at the area of horti of
SNSU – Mainit Campus, Magpayang, Mainit, Surigao del
Norte. The duration of the study was from February until
May 2023
PROCESS AND PROCEDURES
Land Preparation
Nine plots with 2x2 square meter will thoroughly prepared. Weeding and
cultivating will be done using different kind of farm tools. After weeding and
cultivating, the area will be divided into nine plots. Each plots have a distance of
3ft. Will add bamboo fence to support the plants, it will be done when the plant
emerge.
Seed Sowing
Sowing of Seeds will be done using the diagonal or Quincunx system. Will be
done similar to the square system except additional plant is planted at the center
of the square. Three seeds of string bean will be directly sow per hill with 1 inches
deep at a distance of 2ft per hills and between rows, then if 3 seeds germinated
pull out the 2 seeds, and remain the healthy that emerge. And water the soil
immediately and regularly when the soil is dry.
Treatment Application
Treatments will be apply when the plants are week after sown
with 200g per hill each treatments and will be applied once every 15
days. The study has three treatments with three replications having
five plants per replicate a total of 45 plants. The different treatments
will be as follows:
Harvesting
String bean pods will harvest when pods are
slightly firm, using cutting tools pods will pick earlier
before the bumps of the bean started to show. And
will harvest 5 times only.
