The Arduino Boards

The Arduino boards are open-source hardware and software projects that allow users to build digital devices easily and cheaply. Arduino boards contain microcontrollers and can be connected to sensors, motors, and other components via input/output pins. They are popular because their simple design makes electronics accessible to anyone through step-by-step projects. Common Arduino projects include sensors, robotic arms, vehicle simulators, and more. The document shares one person's experience using an Arduino board to connect a BMW speedometer cluster to a computer.

What is Arduino?
•Arduino is an open-source hardware and
software company project, and user
community designs and manufactures
single-board microcontrollers.
•Arduino board designs use a variety of
microprocessors and controllers. The
boards are equipped with sets of digital
and analog input/output (I/O) pins that
may be interfaced to various expansion
boards ('shields') or breadboards (for
prototyping) and other circuits.

What can you do with
the boards?
With a board as simple as an Arduino you
can do basically everything. There are tons
of projects online which contain a simple
step by step tutorial on how to do them.
Everyone can use Arduino and make
something interesting with it.

My personal experience
with Arduino boards.

One night I was scrolling through TikTok

and I saw a video of a guy who had wired
a speedometer from BMW E36 to his PC
using the Arduino UNO R3 board.
At the moment I saw the video I taught “I
have to have this thing.”
So I started to read everything on how to
make this happen.
When I had enough knowledge I bought a
cluster from BMW E36 316i and an
Arduino UNO R3 board and got to work.
After many attempts and fails it Finally
worked and I was so happy about it!
