MODULATION
01
WHAT IS PHASE MODULATION?
Phase modulation is a type of modulation used to
send communication messages. Because of
discrepancies in the immediate phase, it modifies
the message signal in line with the carrier signal.
This modulation is a combination of two main
types: frequency modulation and angle
modulation.

WHAT ARE THE FORMS OF IT?
• Phase Modulation (PM)
• Phase Shift Keying (PSK)
• Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK)
• Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK)
• 8-Point Phase Shift Keying (8 PSK)
• 16-Point Phase Shift Keying (16 PSK)
• Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying
(OQPSK)

WHAT ARE THE USES AND
APPLICATIONS OF IT?
• Phase modulation is used in digital synthesizers for
generating waveform and signal
• Phase modulation is extensively utilized for the
transmission of radio waves which stands as support for an
abundant range of wireless technologies like that of GSM,
Satellite television, and Wi-Fi.
• This modulation is mostly implemented in the broadcast of
radio waves, and it is the crucial element in many of the
digital communication coding methods.
