Functions of Road Marking • Road markings are used to control and regulate the traffic flow. • They are used to ensure the maximum safety • They also provide the message conveyed by the road signals and sign • They are used as the controlling devices in some cases. ROAD MARKING Markings are applied to roadway surface using a variety of materials and the most common one painting. There are two basic types of Road marking based on the direction of marking on road surface. 1. Longitudinal Marking and 2. Transverse Marking
