Creative Critical Reflection
By: Fransaska Renelus
How does your • The product doesn’t necessarily challenge
product use or conventions. I believe it serves as a twist to
an object that serves a singular purpose, entertaining children. The product explores challenge the curiousness and greed of some, even if it means harming others. Essentially, it shows a conventions and how possibility of the chain of events that could occur due to human greed. For does it represent representation, I think human greed is more present in students because of a need to social groups or succeed in life and to achieve personal goals and beyond. However, this quality is present
issues? in those out of school as well.
How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? The aim while making the product was mainly to have the audience wonder what would happen next. In a way, expect the unexpected. This is in the efforts of attempting to reel the potential audience in and allow them to express the emotion of surprise and anticipation. As a real media text, it would be distributed through online streaming apps as well as movie theaters. Due to people mainly using streaming apps, it is the best course of action to ensure people viewing it. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? • Through the process of creating the project, I mainly worked with camera angles. I learned to be able to communicate with how something should look, as well as collaborating with others to produce what we wanted. Communication played a big role for me. Previously, I wasn’t keen on voicing opinions and simply agreeing. However, this project allowed me to realize the importance of making sure my thoughts were included to make sure there is a compromise that all can agree on. Using the key factors of producing a film was also achieved. Classification as an expert was not achieved, but I was able to see how they were put together. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project? I filmed parts of the product with a mobile device. Editing was done with an iPad device. I became aware of limitations that comes with this, but working our way around it was extremely difficult. The product was not edited by me, however, it was edited through an editing app. Voice recordings were created as well as using the needed diegetic and nondiegetic sounds. Background music was also included. To integrate them, all scenes were put in a set order and the sounds used were added with the scene it was planned to be apart of. Scenes with just wording were also included, creating a pattern, to produce, what is now the product.
