TOEFL LISTENING

COMPREHENSION
The difficulty of english in TOEFL is level advance, so
if somebody has not reached that level , it will be
difficult to get toefl score more than 550
In many cases, the main difficulty of toefl place in
LISTENING COMPREHENSION. This is caused by
Indonesian treats an english as foreign languange,
that’s why the english as foreign languange is very
seldom to used in daily life.

( One trick is focused on the sinonim of the sentence)

(Is is an conversation between two persons that more
than 5 sentences. The tricks is focused on main idea
and detail things such name, place, year)

(It is a talk by one person,The texts is formed
deskriptive or narative. Ussually ,texts has theme of
geographics, biology, history, medical,etc)

Restatement

Question:
Woman : You have been wrking at the computer for hours
Man : Yes,and I need to take a break
Narrator : What does the man mean?

Answer:
A.The Computer’s broken
B. He must relax for a while
C. He should keep working
D. He’s broke

The correct answer is c. He should relax for a while,

Negative state with positive respons

Question:
Man : I can’t stand this weather
Woman : We haven’t seen as much snow as this for years!
Narrator : What does the woman mean?

Answer:
A. It has rarely snowed this much
B. It hardly snowed this year
C. It snows so much every year
D. It is barely snowing this year

the correct answer is (A). The statement We haven’t seen as much snow as
years! Means It has rarely snowed this much. Notice that option A is the
restatment of what the second speaker’s line.

and presentation on skiing techniques and equipment, and best of all plan
skiing trips. Doesn’t that sound good?
Man: It does sound great, but I don’t exactly know how to ski very well.
Woman:That doesn’t matter. You don’t have to know how to ski. You just have to
want to learn how to ski.
Man: That sounds like my kind of club. I guess I’ll come along with you and try it.
Woman:We’ve got to hurry. It’s almost three o’clock.
Long Talks
The first, the narrator reads a long talk, example:
“When scientists are studying animals in the wild, they often
want to follow the animals movements. One way that scientist
have often tracked wild animals in the past has been with radio
transmitters. A radio collar could be attached to an animal and
the animal could be tracked on a radio receiver. The major
problem has been happened that radio signals were not very
relieble.They could come and go as animals travelled too far.
Now scientist are using a new way to track animals in the
wild .This new way of tracking animals uses satellites.
Transmitters are attached to animals in the wild , and the
transmitter send signals into the atmosphere every few hours.
Weather satellites circling the earth receive the signals from
the animals, and scientist get the information from the
satellites.”
If your listening comprehension still in the elementary level or
intermediate, it will be difficult for you to understand the long talk.
