INTRODUCTION

The managerial function of staffing involves manning the organizational structure through
paper and effective selection, appraisal and development of personnel to fill the roles
designed into the structure. The success of any organization does not depend upon the
physical or financial resources but it depends upon the utilization of these resources by
human resources. So hard working efficient people are the most important asset of an
organization. The key to success of any organization is right person at the right job position.

Staffing function is concerned with bringing right and efficient people in the organization.
Staffing helps to find and hire people who are qualified for the job position and will benefit the
company. It also improves the quality and quantity of work done by the company because
they have staffed the optimum people.
Job satisfaction rates are likely to increase because everyone is well-suited for their position and is happy
to be doing their specialty of work. Higher rates of productive performance from the company are also
common, as they have staffed the right people to do their jobs. It provides employees the opportunity
for further growth and development.

For every organization it is important to have the right person on a right job. Hence, proper staffing and
recruitment plays a vital role in this situation. Shortage of skills and the use of new technology are putting
considerable pressure on how employers go about recruiting and selecting staff. It is recommended to carry
out strategic analysis of the staff recruitment procedures.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Staffing is the process of determining the man power requirements that could meet
company's objectives. Several factors such as manpower, job analysis, recruitment, selection,
placement & Orientation training, performance, appraisal Promotion & career planning
compensation, separation. Staffing theoretical framework is a social psychology theory
that explores the effects of behavior setting being either understaffed or overstaffed understaffing
refers to idea that there are not enough people for what the behavior setting promotes whereas
overstaffing is an overabundance of people the term staffing  theory was previously known as
meaning theory but was renamed.

Importance of Staffing
1. Investment costs: procurement of human resources involves investment in terms of
selection, training and development costs.
2.Holistic Approach: The usefulness of the persons in an enterprise depends on the
managers.
3. Long Term Effect: The investment in human resource is of long term effect. This makes the
decision to employ and remove a person from employment a very important consideration.
4. Potential contribution: while selecting a person more particularly for the managerial
position the enterprise has not only to think of the current tastes but also his potential
contribution in future.
5. Multiplier Effect: The total effect of the functioning of the individual members of a term of
managers may not be equal to the effect of the team as a whole

Staffing theory focused on the idea theory when there are fewer people available for a number of
behavior setting there is pressure on individuals to take on responsibilities a behavior setting
is a physical location temporarily or physically bound that influences the behavior of the
people when in it .

LIMITATIONS OCCURED

1. Some customers were not feeling comfortable and encouraged to provide accurate honest
accurate answers because they were concerned about their sensitive personal information.

2.  Time Constraints.

3.   However time being the main limitation of the project , all angles of the subject might
not have been covered . Although all possible efforts have been made to cover maximum areas
regarding the subject of study.

4. Collecting information from the customers during work hours was very difficult. Some were
busy doing their own day to day work , while some went out for other works and also some were
on leaves. Also some owners refused to fill up the questionnaire , they did not want to disclose
their views and opinions.
CONCLUSION

1. The role of senior management is really important in employee engagement programs

as they have to act as the sponsor of the scheme and ensure that the commitment level
remains high throughout the organization towards these schemes.

2.   Employees like challenging assignments rather than routine, highly structured jobs as the
element of learning and growth is missing in their work which hampers their overall
output. The response of employees of the Company indicates that they can certainly
improve the engagement level in their organization by adopting a more challenging
and exciting work culture. The feeling of working on a useful and challenging
assignment does help in ensuring proper engagement.
3. Employees like to feel that there is someone to whom they can turn for advice, if they need
it. The workplace environment should have a culture where people are working more as a
team and the role of the supervisor is to act as a helping hand rather than being
a taskmaster.

4. Employee Engagement is all about making employees „feel involved and valued‟. As
such, if the company does not provide its employee a fair chance to grow as
their suggestions and opinions are not encouraged, then the company is bound to lose
its market share heavily.
