Objective:

1.explain the different kinds of complementary


and alternative health care modalities

1.Complementary medicine - refers to ways of


treating patients which are different from
the ones used by most Western doctors, for
example acupuncture.

 People from the earliest times used different herbs


as treatment for various diseases.

 Medicinal science has begun to accept the


curative powers of herbs as well as in prevention
of diseases.

 The Philippines is a rich in medicinal herbs found


to be effective against common illnesses
(headache, cough, fever, diarrhea).

enhancing the development and provision of

country.
